Thousands People Flocked to Ganceng Festival

Thousands of people flocked to the Ganceng Festival, Pondok Rangon, East Jakarta. The event is an annual event with shades of religious, cultural and economic.

Ganceng Festival Committee Chairman, Boih Diman said all Ganceng people who have migrated out of the city back to Pondok Rangon to enjoy and enliven the event.

He went on the say that it begins with prayer and praying together in a hall that located at Ganceng Tomb. In addition, there will be a spiritual cleansing, procession, mask dance, ondel-ondel, puppet show on Friday (9/'23) afternoon until night.

Mayor of East Jakarta, Bambang Musyawardana uttered, Ganceng Festival is a folk party that carried out for generations. The party still exist every year, even though foreign culture enters into Indonesia freely

"I salute the people could still exist maintain traditional cultural festival like this," he finished.
